City National Bank has appointed Martha Tuma its chief human resources officer.
Tuma will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategy across the bank, and will oversee colleague engagement, colleague relations, colleague retention, compensation and benefits, leadership development, payroll, recruiting, talent management, training and education, and workforce diversity.
Tuma most recently managed more than 300 HR professionals as an executive vice president of human resources at Charles Schwab & Co. She previously worked for Apple, Logitech and Intel.
“Martha has tremendous experience leading the HR efforts at major financial services and technology firms and helping guide those companies through expansions and transformations,” City National Bank President Chris Warmuth said. “Since merging with RBC in 2015, City National has grown rapidly and added hundreds of new colleagues. Martha will be instrumental in helping us manage this growth through our recruiting and retention programs.”
