Caliva issued the following announcement on Nov. 30.
Caliva, one of the largest and the most trusted cannabis companies in the state of California, is proud to announce its latest addition to its executive team. Wesley Jess, a veteran Silicon Valley technologist and strategist has been hired as Vice President of Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
Jess brings extensive skills in sales, marketing, operations, and supply chain management from his experience working at top technology companies, most recently Rackspace and Intuit. This comes on the heels of another exciting executive hire earlier this year with Caliva bringing on Silicon Valley business developer Sean Peters to serve as Vice President, Business Development for the company.
"These new members of the Caliva family are not only professional leaders in their fields, but also are world class team builders with an extensive network of high performing people. We could not be more excited to see how their teams will take Caliva to the next level," said Dennis O'Malley, President and CEO of Caliva. "As a product company focused on ubiquitous distribution, we know their technology DNA will give us a huge platform advantage and help us cement our reputation as innovators in the industry."
These latest hires are just a small part of the massive growth taking place in the Caliva organization. The company's human resources have nearly doubled since December of 2017, growing from a team of 161 to a current roster of 335 employees - 112 of whom were just recently hired on in Q3 2018.
The growth will continue well into Q4, with 26 job openings currently posted on Caliva's website, and an additional 17 delivery drivers needed in the Bay Area market as the company extends its delivery presence into San Francisco.
Caliva has also expanding its physical footprint, breaking ground on a second facility in the Bay Area in November which will necessitate another hiring cycle.
