US Foods Holdings Corp. has tapped David Works as executive vice president and chief HR officer. 

“I’m pleased to welcome David, a seasoned chief human resources officer and business executive, to our executive leadership team,” Chairman and CEO Pietro Satriano said. “Employees are the driving force behind our 'Great Food. Made Easy.' strategy, and David’s leadership will be invaluable as we work to attract, develop and engage the right talent now and in the future.”

Before joining US Foods, Works served as chief HR officer at Hackensack Meridian Health. He has also led Windstream and Sears Holdings’ HR departments, and served at Windstream as president of the Enterprise Business Unit. 

Works is also a Navy veteran who spent seven years as an officer in the submarine force. 

He holds degrees in finance and mechanical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Connecticut, and an MBA from Northwestern University.
