ALM Media, an information and intelligence company that manages "the business of business," has appointed Mark Fried as chief financial officer and president of events.
As ALM’s new CFO, Fried will handle the company’s financial function including profit and loss ownership of the company’s global events portfolio. This includes around 80 events including Legalweek, cyberSecure, BenefitsPro Broker Expo, SuperConference, and America’s Claims Event.
"Mark's background as a media sector CEO is perfect for our finance and events teams given the stage of our business evolution," Bill Carter, president and CEO of ALM Media, said. "His experience working with investors and key financial stakeholders will help us communicate externally while leading the finance function internally. On the events front, Mark's history of running a business with a large professional services events portfolio makes him a natural fit for that aspect of his role at ALM."
Fried joins the company from Vendome Group, where he served as president and CEO.
"ALM is a leader in the B2B media industry, with a wealth of media, intelligence and events offerings delivered to business professionals," Fried said. "I am excited to join the ALM leadership team supporting the company's financial function while concurrently growing ALM's events business in these attractive segments."
