Diageo North America has welcomed Lavanya Chandrashekar as the company’s new chief financial officer. 

"Lavanya is a highly strategic leader with a passion for developing people and teams," President Deirdre Mahlan said. "She has built an extensive career supporting global organizations while delivering outstanding results and driving transformational change."

Chandrashekar joins from Mondelēz International, but her over 20-year career has included posts in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. 

With its U.S. headquarters in Norwalk, Connecticut, Diageo is a British-based firm that owns alcoholic beverage brands including Johnnie Walker, Crown Royal, Smirnoff, Captain Morgan and Don Julio.
