Lorraine Booth of MemorialCare has been recognized with a 2018 Leaders of Distinction Award from HRO Forum.
Booth, MemorialCare’s chief human resources officer, received her award during a ceremony held recently in Washington, D.C. Emerging from a field of 50 nominees in her category, Booth was named Chief Human Resources Officer of the Year for Nonprofit Organizations.
Booth has been with MemorialCare -- a nonprofit Southern California integrated health care provider with over 200 care locations and 15,000 employees -- for 27 years. During this time organization officials say she has helped re-imagine its people and culture initiatives, leadership performance, system integration, succession planning, and benefits design.
"We're proud of Lorraine's exceptional accomplishments in transforming our leadership and talent development," MemorialCare President & CEO Barry Arbuckle said. "For example, through innovative leadership and pivotal organizational strategy, Lorraine spearheaded redesign of our management evaluation tools and process from an annual look-backward to a forward-focused process, resulting in more timely feedback, goal management and mentorship."
Booth is one of only a few health care leaders ever honored by the The HRO Forum, which is part of media company HRO Today.
"I'm grateful and humbled by this recognition on behalf of MemorialCare and our employees, physicians and volunteers who provide compassionate, high quality care to communities we serve," Booth said.
