Summa Health is looking for a full-time benefits specialist in the company’s corporate office.
Interested applicants must have at least two years college coursework or a bachelor’s degree with a focus on business, HR, computer science or any similar field. Candidates must also have three years experience in HR with a focus on employee benefits, retirement, insurance, HR software packages, and other relevant experience and a knowledge of workers’ compensation laws, employment laws, retirement plans, and compensation.
Interested applicants must also have good time management skills; excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills; the ability to maintain a good working relationship with employees, union, physicians, hospital departments, and agencies; and a working knowledge of various current benefit laws.
The benefits specialist will be responsible for reviewing, coordinating and processing events based on key features and functions. He or she will also assist in evaluating, administering and promoting the company’s benefit programs, as well as ensuring compliance with laws, provisions of insurance plans, organizational policies and other HR-related tasks.
