United Airlines recently revealed a financial leadership transition with the departure of Chief Financial Officer Andrew Levy and the appointment of Gerry Laderman as acting CFO, serving while the company canvasses for a permanent replacement.
Laderman is senior vice president of finance and procurement as well as treasurer. He will continue to supervise United’s financial vision, comprising cost management, capital allocation and balance sheet work.
"I personally want to thank Andrew for his contributions to United,” CEO Oscar Munoz said. “He leaves the company in a stronger financial position and with a clear strategy and framework in place. Our exceptional operational performance and our focus on productivity are driving improved profitability despite anticipated fuel headwinds and we remain confident in our existing financial guidance.”
Laderman joined United in 2010, following a stint at Continental Airlines in similar capacities. He graduated from Dartmouth College and earned a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
Munoz expressed confidence in Laderman’s leadership capabilities.
"Gerry's deep experience and financial acumen mean that he is ideally suited to lead our finance organization during this transitional period,” Munoz said. “Gerry will work with the rest of the team to continue delivering on our financial strategy as we search for a permanent CFO."
