Tarrant County College has a job opening for a part-time Human Resources Specialist for its Compensation & Benefits division.
As a Human Resources Specialist, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining employee files and records, and/or programs based on area of assignment.
To qualify for this position, you must have an associate’s degree or 60 college hours and two years of related experience (benefits and compensation, technical, employee relations and recruitment), or you must have any equivalent combination of education, training, certification and related experience. You also must have experience working in a college.
As part of your duties and responsibilities, you will initiate, maintain and update files and other relevant information in HR systems; compile, analyze and generate customized reports for administrative and external sources; implement, track and maintain a database of various employee information; conduct training sessions regarding HR procedures, policies and processes; complete all the required training and professional development sessions.
You also must be able to support the values of Tarrant County College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity, and service to the college.
To succeed in this position, you must possess knowledge of payroll processing and FMLA. You must be detail-oriented, know how to interact and communicate effectively in verbal and written form, be able to multi-task with minimum supervision. and be able to quickly grasp concepts and procedures.
Additionally, you must possess a good understanding of information technology including computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel.
