Twenty-year data protection policy executive Nathalie Laneret has been appointed as director of privacy policy for the Centre for Information Policy Leadership (CIPL).
Laneret will work on the organization's global public policy initiatives to develop and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities in Europe as part of her new role.
"Nathalie brings significant operational experience and expertise and will be instrumental to CIPL's mission and help us meet the increasing demands from our members, regulators and other stakeholders globally," CIPL President Bojana Bellamy said in a news release. "I am delighted that with the addition of Nathalie, CIPL is increasing its presence in Europe and its ability to engage fully in both the ongoing data protection law reform in the EU and developing a strategy for the future."
Laneret previously served as public affairs and data protection officer for Capgemini Group, where she was a member of the Group Cybersecurity and Information Protection Steering Committee. She has also been admitted to both the New York and Paris bars.
"I am thrilled to join a leading global privacy and security think tank and look forward to working with CIPL to contribute to building a future in which innovation, beneficial uses of data and individual privacy are fully enabled," Laneret said in a statement.
Founded in 2001, CIPL works alongside industry leaders, regulatory authorities and policymakers to create global solutions for privacy and responsible data use.
