SandRidge Energy recently appointed Bill Griffin, an independent director at the company, as interim president and CEO.
Griffin took over the role on a temporary basis following the departure of former SandRidge president and CEO James Bennett. He will continue to serve on the board while the company evaluates internal and external candidates that can succeed Bennett.
"Bill Griffin has extensive senior management, operational and technical experience in the exploration and production industry as well as intimate knowledge of the company through his service as an independent director,” SandRidge Board Chairman John Genova said.
SandRidge Chief Financial Officer Julian Bott will also vacate his post, to be succeeded by Chief Accounting Officer Mike Johnson on an interim basis.
The natural gas exploration company also appointed Sylvia Barnes as an independent member of the board. Barnes is a principal and owner of Tanda Resources, an oil and gas investment and consulting company.
