The Congressional Budget Office is looking for an experienced human resources (HR) generalist.
Responsibilities include overseeing and/or assisting with recruitment plans and contacts with candidates, coordinating the internship program, administering compensation and benefit plans, operating HR systems, and tending to special projects. Specifically, he/she will post and advertise jobs, manage recruitment events, process job applicants, and handle candidate relations.
Candidates need a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of recent experience in HR. That experience should include at least three years of recruiting exempt-level employees, as well as experience in at least one other major HR area. The candidate also needs a broad understanding of other HR function relationships; excellent customer service and problem-solving skills; the ability to multitask, organize and meet deadlines; strong communication and interpersonal skills; accuracy and attention to detail; the ability to maintain confidentiality; self-motivation; and the ability to follow through and work as part of a team.
A master’s degree in HR, business, or a related discipline is preferred, as are professional certification and experience with HRIS.
The position requires overnight travel up to 15 percent of the time. A favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation, which includes a credit check, or a higher-level security clearance is needed.
