Vortex Cos.' corporate controller Matthew Samford has been promoted to the position of executive vice president of finance for the civil engineering company.
"Over the last two years, Matt's played an integral role in the company's rapid expansion," Vortex Chief Financial Officer Craig Strawbridge said in a news release. "His ability to manage our growth, from developing a comprehensive employee benefits package and handling acquisition integration to assisting our equity partners, proves that this promotion is well-deserved."
Samford, a licensed CPA in the state of Texas, is a graduate of Texas A&M University's Mays Business School, where he earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's degree in finance. He joined Vortex Companies in 2016 and previously served as an audit manager at a Big 4 accounting firm.

The Vortex Cos., based out of Houston. provide trenchless solutions in water, sewer and industrial marketplaces including bypass and pipe-bursting solutions.
