The City of Coral Gables, Florida seeks a benefits wellness coordinator, serving the local government sector with dynamic programming and providing employee benefits.
The coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks, both administrative and analytical: record maintenance and processing, eligibility, enrollment, status changes and claims. He or she will attend to new hire orientation and benefits education; advise exiting personnel; oversee benefits and compensation plans, and act as liaison to insurance carriers.
The successful candidate will handle annual open enrollment and organize wellness workshops; communicate new information on benefit changes to all personnel and the finance department. Citywide wellness events will serve as a hallmark of this position.
The director will handle duties for all city employees including police and fire personnel. In addition to scheduling, logistics and administrative support, the wellness director will help in requests for proposals (RFP); review correspondence, maintain confidential records and review monthly medical invoices.
Planned activities and educational initiatives will nurture the social, physical and emotional well-being of employees. The coordinator will solicit feedback from events as well as publicize and market them. Finally, he or she will collaborate with the local business community.
Applicants should have an associate’s degree in public or business administration, health promotion or similarly related field and possess a valid Florida driver’s license. This full-time position pays $46,904 annually.
