The City of Chesapeake, Virginia is looking for a human resources generalist in the area of benefits and employee relations.
Duties of the full-time position include coordinating benefits open enrollment, assisting with benefit questions, conducting retirement planning sessions, providing guidance on employee relations issues, analyzing HR data, and providing guidance on the application of policies and procedures.
Prospective candidates must possess a valid driver’s license; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, HR, management, public administration or closely related field; at least four years of related, professional, full-time equivalent experience; and knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws.
Preferred qualifications include public sector HR experience, experience with Virginia Retirement System benefits, and PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP and/or CEBS designations.
