Odfjell, a Norwegian shipping firm with worldwide operations, is in search of an HR administrator to work at its Houston base, providing benefits administration for the Americas plus HR duties for two stateside locales.
Reporting to the office HR manager, the HR administrator will oversee benefit HR functions for both Houston and Charleston, South Carolina terminals.
Applicants are expected to have a high school diploma or the equivalent and three to five years of clerical experience. Requirements include aptitude with Microsoft Office applications; SAP experience is preferred. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and fluency; organizational aptitude, with the capacity to meet deadlines with quality work; and flexibility, to adapt priorities as needed.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated, able to work independently and competent in professional and ethical business standards. He or she will oversee personnel functions including medical and pension benefits, open enrollment, workers compensation, recruitment, payroll and vendor records.
Additionally, the HR administrator will handle orientations, handbook updates, employee identification materials and monthly reports; ensure smooth data handling across diverse platforms; and support annual benefits plan changes including 401(k) and audits.
Odfjell is based in Bergen, Norway with its U.S. hub located in Houston.
