Stewart's Shops, a convenience store business in upstate New York and southern Vermont, has an opening for a full-time plant HR manager at its Saratoga Springs, New York hub’s manufacturing and distribution center.
The company seeks applicants with a solid background in employee relations, payroll, and benefits such as health insurance, disability, FMLA and workers compensation.
Candidates who have knowledge of DOT law and/or previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting are preferred, as are those with a bachelor’s degree and five or more years of Human Resource supervisory experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading recruiting and retention efforts; specifically by interviewing, conducting onboarding, and overseeing mentorship as well as performance review programs.
He or she will convey and clarify all benefits-related information including company policies and procedures. Additionally, the HR manager will support various department managers in developing partnerships; guiding disciplinary procedures as needed; and annually reviewing compensation to ascertain marketplace competitiveness.
Stewart’s Shops takes pride in an amiable work environment, providing a vertically integrated structure so that departments can interact easily and offer the best products and customer service, according to its website.
“Much of our success comes from how pleasant our partners are,” the company said on its website. “[It’s] also why people often comment that they hear Stewart’s can be an enjoyable place to work.”
Recognized as a 2017 Top Workplace in the Capital Region by the Albany, New York Times Union, Stewart's Shops offers an employee stock ownership plan so that employees are also partners.
