The RiseSmart company is on the vanguard of "career transition services" -- a key part of HR that helps make connections that people need throughout their career trajectories.
RiseSmart is developing some interesting tech to help match people to jobs -- a proprietary, award-winning technology platform called Insight delivers a complete system of record for real-time outplacement performance tracking and analysis, which helps support the HR teams that RiseSmart serves.
The company also has a brand new president and general manager. Executive Vice President of Global Operations Dan Davenport was promoted to that role this month, replacing CEO and founder Sanjay Sathé. Company resources also list Davenport as a co-founder of RiseSmart.
"It’s been smooth," Davenport said of his transition in comments to HR Daily Wire on Dec. 13. "Ever since our acquisition by Randstad a little over two years ago, Sanjay and I have worked together closely to create a roadmap for RiseSmart that included a transfer of the leadership to me. As the co-founder, I have always been involved in all aspects of the company."
Davenport said his previous role as CFO will be helpful.
"I know the strategy and rationale for prior decisions, so we don’t have to waste time discussing the past," Davenport said. "Having a deep understanding of the financial drivers and levers of the business will allow me to make key decisions much more quickly than someone coming in from the outside. Also, in my new role, I’ll routinely be on point to discuss our business and financial performance. It’s important for leaders to know their numbers. So, while I’m sure there will be other areas where I’ll take some time to get comfortable, this is one area, in particular, where I have a lot of experience."
Davenport also talked about a way forward for the company, as it takes place in what he called the "evolution of the workplace," a time of new trends, new opportunities and new challenges for business.
"In the near term, we will continue to invest heavily in new technology-enabled solutions that add value and create results for our customers," Davenport said. "For example, we are looking at ways of providing greater depth of services through programs like redeployment, career development, creative retirement, and training for people hoping to join the gig economy as part of the flexible workforce. You will also see us continue to rapidly expand our global footprint."
