FanDuel has named its former Chief Financial Officer Matt King as the company’s new CEO after the departure of FanDuel’s co-founder and former CEO Nigel Eccles and has also welcomed two new members -- Carl Vogel and David Nathanson -- to its board of directors.
Vogel will serve as chairman of the board and Nathanson will serve as an independent director on FanDuel’s board.
King’s appointment to CEO comes after the company’s co-founder and CEO Nigel Eccles announced he was stepping down to pursue another venture.
“With his strategic vision, range of experiences, and broad skillset, I cannot imagine a better individual to steer FanDuel forward,” Eccles said in a press release. “With tremendous legislative strides in the past two years and the business moving into profitability in Q4, FanDuel is in a great position. I know Matt is the leader to capitalize on the momentum in the sports technology space to take FanDuel to the next level.”
Prior to joining FanDuel in 2014, King served as a director at Kohlberg, Kravis, Roberts and Co.
Vogel currently serves as a director for various public companies and previously served as vice chairman and president of DISH Network Corp.
Nathanson, an 18-year veteran of 21st Century Fox most recently served as head of business operations of FOX Sports Media Group.
