Simon & Schuster has just released human resources industry veteran Todd Davis’ book, "Get Better: 15 Proven Practices to Build Effective Relationships at Work," which focuses on the importance of quality relationships in the workplace culture.
Davis, who serves as chief people officer and executive vice president at FranklinCovey, used his decades of human resources experience to examine the nature of relationships among an organization’s people, which he says can either give a company a great competitive advantage or can be a company’s most trying challenge.
In his book, Davis shares 15 key practices for building work relationships which are effective and tells readers to focus on their own behavior in order to “get better” as a team and individuals.
Davis uses a thought-provoking question to begin each chapter in his book to help the reader learn to identify a timely or deeply felt relationship challenge and then read that particular chapter first.
“You can read this book from front to back, or simply scan the question at the beginning of each practice to identify a timely or deeply felt relationship challenge and read that chapter first,” Davis states in his book. “What is most important, is that you approach the book with an open heart and mind, and consider the possibility that the only way to truly get better with others is to begin with yourself.”
"Get Better: 15 Proven Practices to Build Effective Relationships at Work" is available on amazon.com and through Barnes & Noble.
