Connectivity and internet services provider VEON has named Jacky Simmonds its group chief people officer.

“Jacky brings a tremendous track record in leading large-scale organisational transformations and global best practice to VEON,” CEO Jean-Yves Charlier said. “Her extensive experience in leading HR functions across several markets at high profile public companies along with her Board level counsel and advice will be invaluable in building a world-class HR function to accelerate the successful transformation of our group across the world.”

Simmonds has more than two decades of HR experience. She most recently served as group people director at easyJet. Among other roles she had held are group HR director at TUI Group, HR director at First Choice, and head of HR at National Magazine Company UK.
