Varian Medical Systems has named Terilyn Juarez Monroe its chief people officer, or senior vice president of human resources position.
Monroe, who was designated a top 50 global diversity professional by the Economist, will fill the position left vacant by Varian’s Wendy Scott, who is retiring after 13 years with the company.
Monroe has previously served as senior vice president of human resources for Acxicom for the past two years, where she led a team of 75 human resource employees. She is credited with transforming Acxiom’s business performance, resulting in the company earning five 2017 employer of choice awards.
Monroe’s experience also includes serving at Amdocs, Nortel Networks, Bay Networks and Amdahl Corp. in various human resources and internal communications functions.
"We are excited to have Terilyn join the team at Varian," Varian Medical Systems President and CEO Dow Wilson said in a press release. "She brings a wealth of experience in facilitating a collaborative high-performance culture, and she will play an important role in the continued success of the company."
Monroe holds a bachelor's in public relations with a business minor from San Jose State University.
Varian, headquartered in Palo Alto, is a leading manufacturer of medical devices and software for treating and managing cancer.
