Cognex Corp. has promoted 25-year company veteran Sheila DiPalma to senior vice president of corporate employee services and naming DiPalma an officer of the corporation.
Cognex recently promoted DiPalma, who in her new position will oversee the company’s global teams that handle recruiting and hiring new talent; manage employee retention, compensation and benefits; and implement corporate culture communication programs.
“Sheila is a fantastic Cognoid who embodies the best of Cognex culture,” Cognex President and CEO Robert Willett said in a press release. “Her enthusiasm, leadership skills and long history with Cognex will be important assets as we continue to develop our culture and build our global team.”
DiPalma joined Cognex in 1992 as the company’s senior corporate accountant and was promoted to treasurer in 2011. Four years later, DiPalma’s role expanded to include management of corporate employee services.
Cognex Senior Vice President and Chief Finance Officer John Curran will assume DiPalma’s duties in the treasury department as she focuses on her new role.
“Sheila’s appointment as a corporate officer demonstrates the Board’s strong belief that our unique culture is an important strategic element of Cognex’s success,” Cognex’s Chairman and Chief Culture Officer Robert Shillman said in a statement.
Cognex, founded in 1981, is a manufacturer, developer, designer and marketer of a variety of image-based products which use artificial intelligence techniques with human-like ability to make decisions based on what they see.
