Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC), a nonprofit in Anchorage providing health services to 158,000 individuals statewide, seeks a full-time HR benefits administrator who can work both independently and collaboratively within the organization.
The administrator will handle benefit questions, review policy, ensure compliance and make recommendations. He or she will represent the benefits department, work with vendors and brokers, participate in planning and possibly provide training.
Applicants should have basic knowledge of benefit and compensation law, HR policies, customer service and public speaking. Candidates are expected to bring competence in communications, computer software (specifically Microsoft Access and Excel), employee relations, and cost/benefit analysis. Additionally, management and delegation skills, effective prioritizing and multi-tasking are necessary.
A bachelor’s degree in business, HR or similar field is pre-requisite along with three years of non-supervisory benefits administration experience; CBP, CEB, PHR or related certification is highly preferable. Flexibility is optimal as scheduling may vary.
“Experience may be substituted for education on the following basis: one year of relevant, full-time professional experience is equivalent to one year of college education,” consortium leaders advised.
ANTHC has been operational for 20 years and is a consortium of tribal regional health organizations providing high caliber health care for Alaska Native people, both at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage and across Alaska.
