The United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General (USPS OIG) is seeking a capable HR manager for classification, recruitment and placement to provide leadership in its Arlington, Virginia location.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens able to pass a background investigation and manage a government-issued credit account. Familiarity with HR policy and procedures is a must, as is previous experience with managing and counseling on diverse HR issues and capacity to research, evaluate and solve HR issues.
Minimum qualifications include a degree in HR; HR certification such as SHRM CP, HRI, etc.; experience in benefits, retirement, OWCP and similar areas; plus knowledge of U.S. Postal Service personnel policies.
Supervision will involve a diverse work force; the ability to inspire staff and provide superlative customer service is expected, as is the ability to use top communications skills, both verbally and written, with staff and management personnel.
Candidates will be required to provide individuals including current supervisors as references for verification of abilities. They also may be asked to undertake a writing assessment. Only those complying with all document requests will be considered.
With a pay grade of GG 00 (equivalent to a GS-14 and considered as management level) this permanent full-time position pays between $118,375 and $151,984 annually; applicants are urged to apply before the Sept. 20 deadline.
