Paychex, a premier human capital management company for small and medium businesses, will be creating 625 jobs within the next five years at its new site in Rochester, New York that will be dedicated to HR Services.
To add to the six locations already has in Rochester, Paychex is building five more buildings in the suburb of Henrietta. When the $60 million project is complete, 2,000 Paychex employees will move to the new locations, joining the new 625 employees.
"Paychex is growing, and this investment in our products, people, and technology reflects our commitment to continuing our track record of growth," Paychex President and CEO Martin Mucci said. "As we expand our human capital management product set and our investment in technology, we will also expand our workforce, giving more talented people an opportunity to join Paychex and be part of our growth."
Gov. Andrew Cuomo joined with Mucci on Aug. 22 to announce the Paychex project. The Empire State Development organization offered Paychex up to $14 million in incentives for Rochester's job creation, which is a priority for the governor.
"This project will help ensure Paychex remains a major economic driver for Monroe County and the surrounding communities and provides quality jobs for hard-working New Yorkers throughout the region," Cuomo said. "By supporting the company's expansion and growth in the Finger Lakes, we will help create hundreds of job opportunities and continue moving the region forward."
Paychex has approximately 14,000 employees. The new staff members will be hired to focus largely on technology, sales and product development.
