Colorado-based broadband provider WideOpenWest Inc. (WOW!) recently appointed Jill Bright as the firm’s newest member of its board of directors and compensation committee, raising the number of individuals with board seats from eight to nine.
According to standard industry legislation (specifically, the NYSE Listed Company Manual and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934) Bright qualifies as an independent director. She was most recently selected to be executive vice president of HR and administration at Sotheby’s. Previously, she worked for 20 years at Condé Nast as human resources leader, then chief administrative officer.
Bright also held positions with American Express and Macy’s; currently she sits on several additional boards. With a bachelor’s degree from Marymount Manhattan College, she earned an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
In 2015, Bright was named to a New York City advisory commission by Mayor Bill de Blasio for the purpose of assessing compensation of elected city officials.
