CSRA, a Virginia-based IT company, has recently received permission from the U.S. Navy to conduct Field Test 1 of the Navy's new integrated pay and personnel system.
This test will be a part of the Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education (MPT&E) transformation efforts. Through the Interim Authorization to Test (IATT), CSRA will be able to test the capability of the Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) human resource management system that is operating on the cloud. The test's purpose is to strengthen hosting on the Amazon Web Services cloud platform and check security protocols. CSRA has the honor of being the first company to conduct a test of this nature for the Navy.
"We are honored to be chosen by the U.S. Navy to be the first to execute field testing for a COTS HRM instance on AWS," Ken Deutsch, CSRA's executive vice president for defense, said. "CSRA has led the industry by working with prominent tech companies to lead our military customers into the next generation of innovation and technology. We are proud to continue our collaboration with AWS to meet the needs of America's military."
The test will be focused on specific Department of Defense and National Institute of Standards and Technology security controls, as well as Common Access Card authentication.
CSRA currently supports all Navy sailors through its Navy Standard Integrated Personnel System.
