Brimming with innovation, the Origami Owl brand of jewelry — taking small business to a new level while incorporating family values and inspiring youth to build leadership and entrepreneurial savvy — recently named Chrissy Weems as its CEO.
Weems’ daughter, Bella, was the driving force behind the company founded in 2010. Then age 14, she created customizable jewelry products that told a story just so she could save money to buy a car. Now 21, Bella Weems grew up watching her concept evolve into an international company.
Chrissy Weems, who calls the business’ mission a “Force for Good,” ensures that the business gives back to the community with charitable donations. She is now developing the Owlette program as an adjunct to the existing operating model of independent distributors or “designers” whereby youngsters ages 11 to 17 can experience an introduction to business by shadowing their Origami Owl parents.
"We believe the youth are our future and we are committed to giving them the tools they need to be successful," Chrissy Weems said. "The Origami Owl Owlette program will move to the forefront once again as we achieve our goal to inspire the youth of the world, develop young entrepreneurs, and connect with them in meaningful ways."
Origami Owl’s line of keepsake products ranges from lockets, charms and wristwatches to its “Paws Collection” dog accessories.
