Yelp seeks a diligent, disciplined and detail-oriented team player to join its “highly vibrant” work culture as an HR generalist, supporting the company’s New York City team in a technology-oriented environment.
Requirements begin with a bachelor’s degree and two to four years of work experience, including a background in “nuts and bolts” aspects: benefits, payroll, leave policy, compliance and employment law (e.g. COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA and ADA). Hands-on experience in a fast-growing business and/or supporting a sales team is highly preferable.
Candidates should also possess outstanding interpersonal, communications and presentation skills; problem solving, decision-making and strong command of HR metrics and Workday (HRIS), and the ability to prioritize and multitask while overseeing multiple functions while using top judgment.
Qualified applicants will be highly motivated, improvement-oriented, strong on follow-through and capable of building relationships easily. Flexibility, resiliency, commitment and passion are a plus.
He/she will liaise with and counsel managers on employee relations, performance matters, personnel retention and team development; oversee orientation, onboarding, leaves of absence and training; and assist with other projects as needed.
