Depending on the individual job, site and work shift, certain recently hired and prospective new UPS package handlers and tractor-trailer transport drivers in the Ohio area will be eligible for substantial weekly bonuses.
Employees working as package handlers and drivers based at the Columbus, Obetz and Toledo plants who were hired after Jan. 1 may qualify, the company announced from Columbus. While the perk benefits relatively new employees, it also serves to spark momentum for soliciting future team members. UPS seeks to fill close to 1,900 positions at the three sites — both part-time and full-time. In addition, the firm seeks to augment its seasonal work force for the winter holidays.
“We’re looking for hundreds of Ohio residents to join our team,” UPS HR Director Renee Roberts said. “Permanent UPS jobs — including part-time jobs — come with excellent pay and benefits, including health care and retirement.”
Roberts added that many college students can receive tuition assistance. Interested parties can apply online at UPSjobs.com.
The bonuses will total from $75 to $500 weekly, depending on position, location and schedule and require full workweek attendance. The eligible Ohio sites are located at 5101 Trabue Road in Columbus; 2450 Rathmell Road in Obetz; and 1550 Holland Road in Toledo.
