Offering insights into retaining top talent in today’s competitive human resources market, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. recently outlined a variety of topics to empower companies in reaching employment goals via its latest yearly report.
Gallagher’s 2017 Human Capital Insights Report includes 21 articles written by industry experts on helping business stakeholders make informed and cost-effective decisions. Topics range from the pending AHCA health care bill’s impact on employers and mental health initiatives to creating a “destination workplace” through pay equity, and adapting leave policies to accommodate younger generations of workers.
A patchwork approach to benefits and rewards for employees doesn’t quite work, representatives said. Instead, they recommend studying every aspect of engagement and well-being before constructing a clearly defined and adaptable foundation.
“Employers can improve their performance when they consider all elements of employee engagement and well-being together, including physical, emotional, career and financial health, as well as workplace culture,” William Ziebell, who serves as president of Gallagher’s employee benefits division, said. “Alignment of these interdependent elements creates opportunities to effectively control healthcare costs while improving engagement, turnover and other key risks."
