The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the appointments of four new associate administrators in charge of the Office of International Trade, the Office of Government Contracting and Business Development, the Office of Entrepreneurial Development, and the Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs.
The appointments were made by Administrator Linda McMahon, who was appointed by President Donald Trump to the leadership position. Previously, she founded the WWE with her husband Vince.
Peter Cazamias, associate administrator, Office of International Trade
Peter Cazamias, will serve the Office of International Trade as an associate administrator. Cazamias will be responsible for administrating the Federal & State Trade Development Division, the International Trade Finance Division, the International Affairs & Trade Policy Division and Administration & Operations with focus on Budget, Human Resources, and Management. The department was recently reorganized and Cazamias will be using the skills he honed in the energy industry and Marine Corps to succeed in the new position.
Robb Wong, associate administrator, Office of Government Contracting and Business Development
Robb Wong is the new associate administrator of the Office of Government Contracting and Business Development and will oversee roughly $500 billion in total federal spending ensuring that small businesses can compete for federal contracting opportunities. He brings with him a great deal of small business experience including his history as an SBA attorney in the Office of General Counsel and time spent as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney.
Allen Gutierrez, associate administrator, Office Entrepreneurial Development
Allen Gutierrez will serve the SBA as the new associate administrator of Office Entrepreneurial Development. This department is responsible for a national network of offices that provide various programs such as mentoring to new business owners. Resource Partners: Women’s Business Centers, Small Business Development Centers and SCORE all fall under his supervision at the new position. Gutierrez previously served as executive director of The Latino Coalition, a non-partisan conservative group. Prior to that Gutierrez worked with the SBA as Senior Advisor to the Chief Operating Officer.
Michael Hershey, associate administrator, Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs
Michael Hershey has been appointed the associate administrator of the Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs. His work will focus on development and enactment of SBA legislative proposals. Hershey brings with him some experience working with the congressional offices and staff as he previously served as Senior Vice President of Government Relations for the National Association of Broadcasters and Chief of Staff and Legislative Director for U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum.
