Illinois Marine Towing requires an HR manager for its Lemont, Illinois base to handle parent company Canal Barge Corp.’s planning, development, hiring, employee relations and services, compensation and benefits, and safety and health initiatives.
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in HR is required along with previous training in organizational planning, labor relations and compensation. The prospective manager should also bring at least five years of experience in HR or personnel management and a record of rapport with employees in the workplace.
The HR manager will administer and maintain the company’s annual HR management plan and budgets, reporting to senior personnel for operations and human resources; oversee recruiting, placement and training; prepare reports to support department functions, and manage short- and long-term goals and staffing needs.
Additionally, he or she will protect the interests of employees and the company in alignment with existing policy while continually appraising current practices for industry standards. The HR manager will also practice conflict resolution as needed with the capacity to perform all duties under the leadership of the vice president of human resources and business unit leader.
