The University of Chicago is seeking a human resources director for its Harris School of Public Policy.
Duties of the full-time position include developing job descriptions, providing full cycle recruitment support, drafting offer letters, orienting new staff employees, overseeing the performance management process, evaluating salaries, advising on leadership development, overseeing payroll processing, dealing with benefits and payroll issues, representing the school in employee relations cases, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Prospective candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in HR management, business administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; at least five years of experience in a HR, management or operations; proficiency with PC and Microsoft Office Suite; and strong communication, decision-making, conflict resolution, and critical and creative thinking skills. Preferred qualifications include experience in conducting formal investigations.
