Cabrillo College in Aptos, California is looking to hire a human resources technician.
Duties of the full-time position include assisting with recruitment and selection procedures, preparing paperwork for newly hired employees, updating employee information, maintaining files and records, administering performance exercises, computing appropriate salaries, explaining personnel policies to employees, assisting with personnel issues, compiling workforce statistics, and performing office support work.
Prospective candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; three years of personnel or payroll support work; the ability to operate standard office equipment such as a computer and software; strong communication, analytical and time management skills; and the ability to handle confidential information.
Applicants need to have knowledge of basic public personnel administration practices and terminology, basic recruitment and selection practices and techniques, standard office practices and procedures, basic functions and structure of a community college, and business mathematics.
Preferred qualifications include completion of college-level coursework in HR, and experience with Colleague and NEOGOV information systems.
