The City of Portland, Oregon seeks a full-time human resources technician to deliver an array of tasks and provide assistance to city staffers and employees.
The technician will perform paraprofessional, technical and administrative tasks ranging from data collection and analysis and report preparation to staff seniority calculations and website maintenance. City of Portland HR personnel collaborate with colleagues in a team environment while concurrently fulfilling individual commitments, applying problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
Experience with research and data collection; Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) and familiarity with labor regulations are expected. Applicants should have organizational and interpersonal skills in order to be able to multitask, prioritize assignments and use discretion in employee matters. Thorough and accurate record keeping is a must.
Previous familiarity with NEOGOV or similar applicant tracking system and SAP or another HRIS is a plus, along with Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity (AA/EEO) reporting.
