National Oilwell Varco (NOV), a multinational corporation headquartered in Houston, requires a full-time human resources coordinator responsible for hiring from pre-employment through on-boarding; overall administrative support, and implementation of HR policies and initiatives.
The HR coordinator will screen job candidates and process documents; coordinate background checks and testing, and maintain personnel files. In addition, he or she will prepare and evaluate data and information to yield reports; help the department to deploy programs and procedures, and execute other tasks as assigned.
In addition to a bachelor’s degree in HR or similar field, candidates should have two to five years of HR generalist background as well as one to two years as a recruiter. Strong verbal and written skills, a high degree of accuracy and eye for detail, and time management capabilities are a must, as is the ability to ensure confidentiality.
The successful applicant will exercise strong judgment, display courtesy and model diplomacy with both staff and the public at all times. Computer skills in Microsoft programs and Internet fluency are required; prior familiarity with Taleo Applicant Tracking System is a plus.
NOV produces control electronics for power generation and control of drilling motors and motor control centers for air conditioning systems.
