On June 5, seasoned HR leader Lucien Alziari will join Prudential Financial Inc. as senior vice president and top HR offier of the Newark-based company, filling the shoes of retiring longtime team member Sharon Taylor.
Alziari most recently worked at transportation and energy conglomerate A.P. Moller-Maersk, an international firm located in Denmark. With his talent management skills, governance and compensation experience and a knack for organizational transformation, he was recruited largely due to Taylor’s careful guidance during the process, according to Prudential Financial.
“We will miss Sharon’s strong work ethic, valuable counsel and leadership. I’m grateful for her lasting contributions to Prudential and to the communities we serve,” Chairman and CEO John Strangfeld said. “The leadership of Human Resources will be in good hands, however … Lucien Alziari will help ensure that talent remains a strategic differentiator for Prudential.”
Alziari, who hails from the United Kingdom, previously also worked at Avon Products Inc. as well as PepsiCo. He currently serves as a director of the National Academy of Human Resources, an organization into which he was inducted in 2011. In addition, he is a director at global shoe manufacturer and retailer C&J Clark International.
