United Airlines is looking for a senior manager of human resources and employee relations.
Duties of the position include providing guidance on HR-related issues, coordinating with management on HR strategies and practices, establishing and maintaining strong business partnerships, counseling employees on personal and policy matters, dealing with employee relations issues, implementing collectively bargained agreements, assisting with the creation of performance improvement plans, overseeing recognition programs, providing training on corporate guidelines and policies, assisting with grievances and arbitrations, and ensuring HR procedures comply with HR and employment laws.
Prospective candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent work experience; at least two years of management/leadership experience; strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and decision-making skills; and strong knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations on the state and federal levels.
Applicants should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle confidential information and travel if needed.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a HR-related field, HR industry certification, four years HR generalist experience or equivalent leadership/work experience, and experience working in and/or managing an unionized work group.
