Ahead of plans to broaden its footprint across the country, VERTS Mediterranean Grill has added new members to its C-suite and shuffled some existing roles.
Four new executive level positions were added: Andreas Sossong as chief financial officer; Stefan Boyd as vice president of finance; Rachael Kelly Marcus as vice president of human resources; and Steve Barrow as director of information technology.
According to the announcement, the revamp was needed to support expansion into Boston and Philadelphia, as well as 25 other U.S. cities.
"Our new executive team represents industry leaders with extraordinary vision for our future," VERTS CEO and co-founder Michael Heyne said in the press release. "Their wealth of knowledge and experience will help advance VERTS to 200 restaurants by 2020."
Three other employees were promoted in the restructure:
• Zachary Johnson – accounting director
• Kevin Blackburn – vice president of development
• Keith Peterson – vice president of marketing
Last year, Restaurant Business ranked the chain as one of the fastest-growing, fast-casuals in the industry. Co-founder Dominik Stein was listed on 2017’s Forbes 30 Under 30.
