PlanSource has launched a new service that will make it easier to apply for benefits via a mobile phone.
Andromeda was developed and unveiled by the Orlando, Florida-based tech company after research revealed that one in five people use their smart phones to access the internet.
"We want to make it easy for everybody," Bill Fryman told HR Daily Wire. "There is no app needed, but it is completely secure and easy to use."
Fryman said most office workers have no problem accessing the internet, but a blue collar worker may not. This new service is designed for those workers, he said.
"There are a lot of people out there who don't have regular access to a laptop or desktop computer, making online benefits enrollment difficult," PlanSource CEO Dayne Williams said in a statement following the release of Andromeda.
Williams added, "We've solved that with the Andromeda release by making benefits enrollment possible anywhere and on any device. This gives consumers much better access to education and information about their benefits and a simpler way to enroll in valuable coverage."
PlanSource's new employee experience was developed using responsive design, according to the release.
It essentially means that employees can shop for and enroll in benefits on any device, whether it is on a laptop, tablet or phone. Unlike a mobile app that consumers have to download, the site will simply adapt and work on any size screen.
The new employee experience was built to make the benefits shopping and enrollment experience as easy and intuitive as possible, according to the company. It includes cards to display plan options, sliders for making selections, and concepts that consumers are already familiar with such as a shopping cart and a checkout process.
