Hewlett Packard is soliciting applications for a benefits communication specialist to be based in Houston and report to the vice president of Global Health and Wellbeing.
The position is open to those with a first-level university degree or equivalent experience and at least four years of experience in compensation, benefits, finance and/or human resources. Those with at least two years of experience working in those fields in a communications capacity are preferred.
Additionally, candidates must have a systematic understanding of total rewards and human resources functions and a developed knowledge of employee compensation and benefits regulations. Candidates should also have strong communication, finance and project management skills.
The benefits communication specialists is responsible for communicating the company’s U.S. benefit programs, proving both operational leadership and daily delivery.
Hewlett Packard uses a highly outsourced benefits model, requiring the successful candidate to serve as a liaison between the benefits team and external vendors and working with those vendors on creating communication plans and draft content. The scope of benefits communication includes health and welfare, retirement and wellness programs, with specific communications including updates, annual enrollment and summary plan descriptions.
The specialist will be responsible for communications to both current and retired populations.
