CPS HR Consulting and the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) recently launched the CPS HR Consulting Institute for Public Sector Employee Engagement, a collaborative effort aimed at improving engagement in the public sector through better information.
“IPMA-HR recognizes the positive impact that improving employee engagement can have on public agencies,” IPMA-HR Executive Director Neil Reichenberg said. “We are pleased to partner with CPS HR Consulting on this important effort.”
The institute will be lead by Bob Lavigna, with the help of principal consultant Janelle Callahan. It will provide agencies with a method for determining employee engagement through a survey tailored to the experiences of public sector works. Using the results of the survey, the institute will work with governments and agencies to determine how employee engagement can improve and in doing so will work to enhance the organizational performance of those institutes.
“Employee engagement is critical to performance and service delivery, particularly in government,” Lavigna said. “When employees are engaged, they go above and beyond the basic job requirements to help the organization achieve its mission. The best way to measure employee engagement is through an employee survey.”
