Following an $8.5 million contract, Long Beach, California, is set to become Tyler Technologies, Inc.’s largest Munis enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution client in the state, with a deal that will cover both human resources and financial management applications.
“This system is the largest and most complex technology project the city has ever undertaken,” Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia said. “This new technology will help increase efficiency and effectiveness, improve controls, provide better information for decision-making and increase transparency. It is also advances our open data policy.”
The system will give Long Beach improved reporting and transparency in addition to improved finance management and human resources processes. Specifically, it includes electronic workflow capabilities, connects data from different functions and automates electronic document imaging, among other functions. Tyler will also provide regular software updates and enhancements with no further fees, making the system a cost-saving measure for the city.
“The city of Long Beach is consistently driven to improve operational efficiency, share information, and integrate processes across departments,” Long Beach Chief Information Officer Bryan M. Sastokas said. “The implementation of Tyler’s Munis will build upon the city’s partnership with Tyler Technologies to achieve these objectives.”
