First Merchants Bank is in need of a welfare plan benefits analyst to oversee implementation, direction and regulatory compliance under the guidance of the benefits directorship, in the firm’s downtown Muncie, Indiana location.
The position is a full-time, non-supervisory one requiring technical, problem-solving, cooperative and communications skills in addition to a core background in human resources, business, accounting or related field with a bachelor’s degree and at least one to three years of HR or similar experience.
The successful candidate will possess exemplary interpersonal skills with sensitivity toward others and an aptitude for teamwork. The ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers while managing time efficiently, prioritizing tasks, meeting challenges and maintaining perspective on the collaborative process is essential.
Technical and computer skills are a must. The benefits analyst will be action-oriented, receptive and professional. S/he will be responsible for all aspects of benefits plans; ensure ACA, COBRA, HIPAA and other regulatory compliance; manage payroll deductions and workers’ compensation; orient new employees; and stay informed of industry changes.
Additionally, the position involves preparing regular analytical reports for senior management, reviewing vendor invoices and approving vouchers while fostering healthy vendor relationships; studying benefit plans and programs, and recommending changes as appropriate.
