Western Digital Corp. has appointed Lori Sundberg as the company’s new chief HR officer, replacing Jackie DeMaria, who is retiring after serving the company for 13 years.

Sundberg will lead important global human resources initiatives and people strategies in line with the company’s ongoing transformation from its San Jose, California headquarters.

“Lori is a proven HR leader with a strong background for developing talent in large organizations, and we are excited to have her join our leadership team,” CEO Steve Milligan said. “She will focus on harnessing the strengths of our diverse, global teams to create an environment where our people and their careers can thrive.”

Prior to joining Western Digital, Sundberg served as senior vice president of global human resources at Jacobs. She also has held HR leadership roles at American Express and Arizona Public Services Co.

With more than 20 years of HR experience, she also holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Brigham Young University.
