Julie Swinehart, senior vice president and chief accounting officer of Retail Properties of America (RPAI), has been promoted to executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer at the real estate investment trust firm.
Swinehart will oversee RPAI’s financial activities, such as internal and external reporting, capital markets, investor relations, internal audit and treasury.
Swinehart joined RPAI in 2008 and has since served in various accounting and financial reporting roles, including corporate controller. She previously worked at Equity Office Properties Trust as manager of external reporting, and has held public accounting posts in the audit practices of Arthur Andersen and Deloitte & Touche.
RPAI owns and runs approximately 120 shopping centers across the U.S.
