Boston’s State Street Corp. recently appointed Ian Appleyard to be the firm’s new executive vice president, global controller and chief accounting officer to lead financial and regulatory reporting and global accounting operations.

Bringing over 20 years of financial expertise, Appleyard most recently has worked with Credit Suisse as managing director and financial leader. Previously, he served at HSBC and JP Morgan. In addition, Appleyard has qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

While at Credit Suisse he spearheaded global restructuring for the company in order to render it legally compliant with regulatory guidelines. His responsibilities in that area included management of the firm’s Brexit program.

In his new role, effective as of May 9, Appleyard will be reporting directing to State Streets CFO Eric Aboaf.
