Skillpath Inc. issued the following announcement on Aug. 8.

SkillPath has selected Michele Markey as its new Vice President of Training Operations. A 25-year veteran of the learning and development industry, Markey has worked as an independent trainer and on talent development teams at major corporations. At SkillPath, she manages the daily operations and logistics of the training department and leads a team of hundreds of trainers who provide high-quality training focused on leadership, teamwork, productivity, communication and compliance.

“As SkillPath expands its training footprint, the need for new leadership for our training operations team was apparent,” said Cam Bishop, SkillPath’s President and CEO. “Michele has worked with hundreds of companies to develop their talent. Her long history in the learning and development industry made her the right fit for this position.”

Prior to joining SkillPath, Markey was the Vice President of Kauffman Fasttrac, which provides business training for aspiring entrepreneurs. She has authored several articles and delivered presentations and training on learning and development, change management, strategic planning, continuous process improvement/process redesign, Kaizen and leadership.

Markey is recognized as a thought leader in the areas of female entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship as a second career. She also is the author of SheVENTURE: Success Strategies for Female Entrepreneurs.

“As I former trainer, I understand how learning and development can increase employee engagement and performance,” Markey said. “The training operations team is now implementing strategies that will enhance how our training department operates and improve the quality of training we provide to our clients.”

Markey is one of seven new executive team members at SkillPath. After Bishop joined the company in April 2017, he bolstered the leadership team with experts in human resources, finance, communications, information technology, sales and learning and development.

“As professional training evolves, SkillPath is prepared to meet the demands of the industry,” Bishop said. “We now have the right team to lead the company forward.”
